Looking for some feedback here…
I’m thinking of changing our weekly rehearsal schedule for the worship teams at our church. We presently have a front line vocals rehearsal, a band rehearsal, and a separate choir rehearsal each week.
Those of you who are worship leaders, music directors, etc., what is your weekly rehearsal schedule? Have you made schedule changes recently? Why did you make these changes? How did your people/ teams respond to these changes? How have these changes benefited or not benefited your ministry?
Leave your comments please…

Through the summer I gave the team a rehearsal respite, so to speak. We would come in early on Sunday am’s having rehearsed on our own prior to that day. Now that we are back in the swing of things I will be having Wednesday rehearsals. It seems that since everyone is already at church for mid-week service that it works best to go ahead and rehearse after that service.
Regarding a choir rehearsal it has been harder. We have a majority of folks that work 5 days a week from sunrise to sunset and getting them together for a practice has been tough. In the past it worked for them to meet on Sunday evenings but since service formats have changed that is no longer an option.

We use to have hearsals on Thursday night for all in the choir, band and frontline. We mostly rehearsed as one large team. So, everyone would be on the same page. And if needed be, we would break up in sections. Band on stage, choir and frontline in rehearsal suite, and sometimes vocal sections break up in separate areas. It was a refreshing for the department in the middle of the week. It was our time to be together and enjoy each other and really work on music.
