Proverbs 22 verse 1 says “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”
I’ve often wondered what people think when they hear my name.
What does it mean to have a “Good Name?” Does it mean everyone likes you? Does it mean you’ve always been good?
Another question that comes to mind is, if the passage states that a good name is “more desirable,” does that mean that there will be times when we will be faced with the choice between riches and a good name?

I believe it is through integrity that a name is established. In days ago a man could make a deal with only a handshake and his word. That, in some cases, was integrity. If that man did not fulfill his bargain it came back to haunt him. I.E. Your name is Mudd….
